Join the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Gemma in Portugal, an in-depth RYT200 Yoga Alliance-certified course with a therapeutic approach, designed to help you confidently adapt yoga, pranayama, and meditation to suit every individual.
Course Overview
Our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training offers a comprehensive and structured curriculum covering key aspects of yoga, teaching methodology, and professional development.
- Yoga Foundations – History, philosophy, classical texts, ethics, and the different paths of yoga.
- Anatomy & Physiology – Functional anatomy, biomechanics, nervous & respiratory systems, and yoga’s impact on health.
- Asana, Pranayama & Meditation – Breathwork techniques, mindfulness, meditation practices, and energy systems (chakras, nadis, koshas).
- Teaching Methodology – Sequencing, alignment, effective cues, modifications, props, and inclusive class management.
- Ayurveda – Doshas, lifestyle principles, and the Ayurvedic approach to well-being.
- Business of Yoga – Career building, branding, pricing strategies, client relations, legal aspects, and studio management.
- Sanskrit & Chanting – Mantras, mudras, and the deeper aspects of yoga tradition.
This training equips you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become a professional and adaptable yoga teacher.

Accommodation: 25 days / 24 nights of accommodation with towels and linen.

RESERVATION OR CANCELLATION
595 euros(or £500) non-refundable deposit secures your space for the chosen room and dates. You have the option to pay in full or take advantage of a payment plan in which there is some flexibility.

- 595 euros (or £500) secures space on the YTT and access to utilise payment plan
- 25% of the total remainder is due by 1st February 2025
- 50% of total fee is due by 1st May 2025
- Total cost must be paid in full by 31st August 2025

Cancellation policies:
In the event of YTT place cancellation by the customer:
- 8 weeks or less before arrival date (22nd August – 16th October 2025): 0% refund
- 8 to 12 weeks before arrival date (25th July – 21st August 2025): 25% refund
- 12 to 16 weeks before arrival date (27th June – 24th July 2025): 25% refund OR transferable to a friend or family member (minus admin fee):
- More than 16 weeks before arrival date (Before 26th June 2025): 50% refund (minus deposit).
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will I be certified to teach yoga upon completion.
Yes, as long as you show a solid understanding of the materials, you will graduate with a certificate that allows you to teach in gyms, studios, private and public spaces as well as obtain legal insurance etc.
Are there payment plans?
Yes, affordability is important to us, you can break up the cost into 4 manageable payments, reach out for more info
I have paid and now cant make it, can I get a refund.

Can I bring my partner who does not want to attend the course.
Yes this is possible, they can share your room , and join the group for meals and downtime, there’s plenty for your partner to do both on and off site, as long as they are respectful to other students and during sessions, their fee will reflect food and accommodation only
I cant make these dates, will there be more?
Yes, we hope to host more , however no dates have been set yet
I cant attend the full 23 days, will I still be able to attend and graduate?
This is a potential, dependant upon which days will be missed, some sessions can be taken at a self study pace off site, some students attending this course are restricted to UK term dates , and will therefore do the first 2 weeks on site, with the remaining hours completed as a combination of self study, and catch up days in person and online with Gem, reach out for more information about how this may help you.

What do I need to pack.
October in Portugal can be chilly, especially in the evenings so pack warmer clothes, laundry facilities available, mats are provided but you are welcome to bring your own.
Is there free time to explore.
There is a lot to cover in 23 days, there will be a few opportunities to watch the sunset over the sea, or hit a local bistro, you can also stay at the venue for a few days either side of the course to explore the area further
Is this YA?
At this moment we have decided not to pay for the YA accreditation, even though the curriculum meets their standards, as does Gem’s experience, please research why YA is a neutral self appointed body, and decide if the benefits (cheaper insurance) offset the registration fees
TRAVELLING TO THE FAR END SURF HOUSE
The Far End Surf House is located only only 63 km or a 50 minutes drive away from Lisbon Airport.
BY CAR
Bring your own or rent a car in Portugal. It is the most convenient way to get around here.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Free pickup anytime from the main bus station in Lourinhã.
There are two bus companies that provide several bus rides every day from Lisbon City to Lourinhã.
Rede-Expressos has journeys each way from Lisbon’s Sete Rios bus terminal (rede-expressos.pt)
Alternatively the ‘Rapida Azul’ of the Rodotejo bus company runs from Lisbon’s Campo Grande bus station (rodoviariadooeste.pt/)
In both cases ticket costs around 5 to 10 euros.
You can buy a ticket to Lourinhã and we will pick you up for free.
TRANSFER FROM/TO LISBON AIRPORT
Book a transport shuttle with us directly from the Lisbon airport to the surf house for 75 € / one way. There are Uber/ Bolt options for around 45-50 €.
We also organize carpooling among participants of the retreat. So you can connect and share a rental car / transfer.
